USCRI North Carolina, through 3-year funding from Duke Endowment, will be implementing the Youth Empowerment Services: Mental Health (YESMH) program. This program will expand direct services which are trauma-responsive and culturally sensitive for refugee youth and unaccompanied children in NC’s Triangle area. YESMH will utilize a model which “wraps around” youth, providing support in office, at school, with family, and with providers in the community.
The Clinician will deliver trauma focused support to refugee youth and unaccompanied children. They must be able to excel in a high-volume, fast-paced program to provide trauma focused home, school and group based clinical interventions. Must also be committed to immigration and human rights issues and be able to conduct advocacy, trainings, and other outreach activities. A key purpose of the program is to provide children and their families with culturally and linguistically competent trauma focused treatment, so they may heal from the experiences that led them to leave their countries of origin to begin a new life in North Carolina. The position reports to the Field Office Director.
