MAGEC fellows, who are funded by a T32 grant from the National Cancer Institute, participate in a multitude of cancer epidemiology-related activities available at Vanderbilt University’s beautiful Nashville campus. They have the opportunity to work on a wide range of established projects in addition to designing their own. They are engaged in research that helps solves problems relevant to global health policy as well as to their own communities. In addition to the availability of data from two large cohorts in China, fellows also have access to data from the Southern Community Cohort Study, a unique resource of over 70,000 adults, nearly 70% of whom are African American.
A Vanderbilt MAGEC Fellowship includes:
• Postdoctoral salary in line with NIH guidelines
• Vanderbilt individual employee benefits
• Tuition for all required and elective courses
• Travel to one conference per year of training
Under-represented minorities and individuals with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply. Please note that US citizenship or permanent residency is required by NIH for participation in this program.
