Opportunities are available for full year-long research or summer student research internships in orthopaedic sports medicine at the Steadman Philippon Research Institute (SPRI) in Vail, Colorado. Recognized as one of the foremost and most advanced biomechanical sports medicine research institutes internationally, medical students are mentored in the art of bench-to-bedside research with opportunties for project initiation, cadaveric dissections, manuscript writing, data collection and analysis, and submsison for publication in highly ranked peer-reviewed publications. Most students work directly with the faculty of the Steadman Clinic and the sports medicine or foot and ankle fellows.
Year-long internships, usually starting in June or July, are highly encouraged for those students who wish to strengthen their CV for future residency or fellowship applications or those with a strong interest in future academic sports medicine faculty positions. Summer internships are also available for those medical students who wish to perform sports medicine research between their first and second years.

A yearly stipend of approximately $30,000, a ski pass, and other benefits are provided.

Year long research internships are also available in the Center for Outcomes Based Orthopaedic Research positions are usually filled between January to March of each year (around the time of the Match).
