University of Minnesota Division of Pediatric Dermatology

The Division of Pediatric Dermatology is seeking applicants for a clinical research fellow for the 2017-2018 academic year.  With four full time academic pediatric dermatologists, we provide a unique, sub-specialty based, learning opportunity. Our division has four multi-center trials, two industry sponsored trials, and a number of investigator initiated trials ongoing.  Fellows will have opportunities for manuscript drafting and attending or presenting at local and national meetings.  Involvement in patient care and interdisciplinary subspecialty clinics (Center for Pediatric Vascular Lesions and Comprehensive Epidermolysis Bullosa) will be part of the curriculum. 

Objectives of the fellowship include: 
1. Serve as study coordinator/sub-investigator on investigator initiated and/or sponsored trials.
2. Participate in general pediatric dermatology clinics, interdisciplinary clinics (VLC, EB) when able
3. Complete a scholarly project (manuscript, presentation or submission)
Additional duties include enrolling patients in relevant studies, assisting with triage concerns between visits, serving as a primary contact for these patients.  Applicants should have a strong interest in clinical care and complicated dermatologic disease. The ability to work with ancillary health services and clinic staff in a collaborative manner is necessary. The fellow will be supervised by the Director of Clinical Research for pediatric dermatology, but will work closely with all pediatric dermatology attendings.  

Medical training required includes: Completed USMLE step 1. Motivated candidates in their 3rd or 4th year of medical school training, or PGY-1 residents will be considered for the position.
