Type of Research:

This opportunity does not have a stipend.

We aim to teach a computer to automatically identify areas within a kidney which may be concerning for renal malignancy.  Then annotate images and teach a computer, using neural networks, to sort patients into malignant or benign tumors, predict complications, and oncologic outcomes.  The role of the student would be to learn to identify renal tumors on CT images and then draw a mask over the kidney and the kidney tumor.  The student may also be involved in chart review and database entry of the clinical outcomes.
